YouthSVB was founded in 2009 by a group of parents in the Austin, Texas area. Their goal was to offer and teach the game of sand volleyball to kids between the 4th grade through the12th grade.
The sport of sand volleyball is becoming more and more popular. In April 2009, the NCAA adopted sand volleyball as a new women's sport beginning in the 2011 season. Men's sand volleyball is soon to follow.
Our desire to get kids interested in the game early led us to YouthSVB. It is a great sport that allows for execise and team play among kids.
We believe that by learning the fundamentals of sand volleyball, every child will become better players as they grow into the sport.
Another benefit of sand volleyball is the substantially lower costs involved for parents. A team shirt will be provided with the league registration fee. There is no need for expensive uniforms, helmets, shoulder pads, gloves or even shoes for that matter! We do recommend Sand Socks for the colder/hotter months, but they are optional. Sand Socks are available for $20 per pair in the vending machine located at The Stadium Restaurant. (Only Cash Accepted) There are no other uniform requirements/costs.
All of our practices and games will be played at The Stadium Restaurant located at 3991 Hwy 290. It is located just west of the "Y" in Oak Hill in SW Austin and very accessible and convenient from most areas of town. It is very family friendly and there are 2 regulation sand volleyball courts reserved for YouthSVB.
